hello, we are taking possession of a large house in mid-january which is basically empty.
we need beds, tables, pots pans, etc...
anyone know where we can secure this booty?
any part of town (bogota) which is known for these transactions?
or where can we find moving sales?
thank you kindly...

Lostgringo says on Jan 1, 2007, 19:01: Buying furniture in Colombia As Manolo suggests you may be able to pick something up in the newpaper. Be aware that alot of stuff that is listed is new furniture some people sell out of their house. And it is more expensive than you going to a regular furniture store. Also as Hollywood suggests moving sales are not all that common in Bogota. I think your best bet is to take a taxi (ask the driver) to the area that specializes in furniture and so on. I found that Exito did not have the best deals on fridges, stoves etc. Many of the taxi drivers know the different areas in Bogota that specialize on different things you may need. And you also get to see alot of the city while shopping.
