Taxis to Medellin... A word of warning the road between Rio Negro at night can be very dodgy as Taxistas can have an arrangement with a few friends, whereby they'll stop the Taxi on route to Medellin & rob the occupants of all their goods. Think about it? It's obvious to the locals that the only time that there is traffic on the road at this time(After dark) are flight arrivals.Am not trying to freak you,but make you aware.It might be better to share a Taxi...... Have fun!

The reason why I said I knew I was going to get an answer like that, because there is always one person that has something say. Anywhere you go there´s that one person. And what do you know? There you are. I didnt ask anything abouth the chances of being robbed, just asking a question about airport pick up, did I ask about being robbed? NO I didnt, did I ask how they rob people, no I didnt. If I wanted to know about the danger about being robbed by a taxi driver I would have read another post on PBH. To all the others that gave me some good info on airport pick up and not some idiot who has nothing else to do and doesnt know how to respect others on general questions and make assumptions on calling people "twats" who they have no idea who they are talking to, I appreciate it. I have a driver waiting for me during my arrival. Idiots are born every 15 minutes, and I think jimi alreay used his 15 minutes of fame!

Jimi... I don't know if you have ever been to Medillin but when I landed Thursday night, there was more damn security up and down that highway than I have seen in a presidential parade! When I got in, it was well after dark and I felt plenty safe. This place is great! Now, relax and quit with the name calling. This isn't elementary school and if you need further advice on such things, you should read the PBH rules on posting.

I am off to enjoy more of Colombia.

CALI! well CALI is beautifull and to go out and have fun that is the place to go. but medellin is also beautifull the weather is great and people are very nice. bogota is the capital so u wont really feel a diference from usa and bogota since u can find everything there.
