SEARCH: RF Modulator in Medellin

Does anyone have any idea where I might find an RF Modulator in Medellin? (For a DVD hookup to old TV in my rental apt)

Just today - I found the Centro Monterrey 2nd floor - lots of small computer stores.

I've checked the big places and didn't expect much - Exito, Carrefour, and small shops at El Tesoro.

One man recommended I go to La Cascadea (In Belen?) where alot of small shops are. Can anyone verify this?

Thanks.

If you want.... I am coming down on April 3rd, and will be there for a week. I can pick one up here in Miami and bring it to you, just get me a pic and a description of EXACTLY what you want.

Yes, I know I dont know you...just trying to help someone out and make acquaintances since I am moving there in June!

Let me know... email me at bradenmiami at hotmail dot com.

The "lovemedellin website" is a piece of crap made by some moron who has only been to Medellin once...you'd be better off reading the Lonely Planet advice from a guy who never even came here!

La Cascada is en el Centro near Calle Colombia (Calle 50) really cheap and they have a lot of electronic stuff.

La Cascada! Once one has been to La Cascada, you feel stupid & shame for how much you have paid in the past for audio/video electronic parts, tools, cables, speakers, soldering irons, dj equipment, etc.

I think that RF thingy is to boost tv signals?

They have cheap ones for like 20-30 mil and the top of the line (for here) called "tru-spec" for 70 mil. They all only have one output but I have mine hooked up to 5 tv´s here using splitters and it does a pretty good, not perfect, job. Helped immensley for watching cable signals on the pantalla gigante.

Thanks for the feedback. My taxi went by CC La Cascada- but it was closed - Sunday. I will go Monday.

These big malls with a bunch of little stores reminds me of similar markets of stalls in Asia - Bangkok or Taipei come to mind. In the US the superstores are too big and here there are too many small ones carrying the same stuff. No middle ground!

bradyvicky - thanks for the offer. If I can't find one tomorrow I will send you an email about it. They are about US$10-$20. I will send you an email with photos of my apartment too and some more rental property weblinks. It would be good to meet up regardless - as I am closing out my 1st week here (2nd time in Colombia - last year was 1st which was 2 weeks touring country) and always good to make new friends in an unfamiliar world.
