SEARCH: office chairs - rolling in Medellin

Does anyone know where I might find rolling office chairs in Medellin? I've been to the furniture places in El Tesoro and also a Home Mart (Not Home Center yet). ALso Carrefour and Exito - no luck.

Standard fare at any Staples or Office Depot back in the USA.
Say..is there any equivalent large office supply store?

I've been to a Marion chain, but that looks like small Kinkos+ type stores.

Thanks.

Do you want executive style or basic style? Makro has typical "polywhatever over foam & plastic, look and feel like a pee-on" cubicle style rolling office chair (in multiple colors!) and one semi-exec pleather style.

Thanks for the tip on Makro. I checked out their selection - pretty good based on what I saw elsewhere. Never had heard about Makro before...looks like a Costco type setup.

I also rechecked Exito and Carrefour and they have a small selection - but no arms on most of them. They do indeed look like they would fall apart and give you a back injury at any time! :)

The other place I went to is Home Center next to CC Monterrey (Didn't go to the one next to Makro). The selection there is pretty good. None of the faux black leather ones - but a few candidates from a company called: Industrias Rod
http://www.industriasrod.com - click Sillas, then Sillas Giratorio

Alejandria - 170k.

Gorgonabob - which Marion store is large that actually carries chairs?

Saw a couple of small furniture stores that might have more options by Home Center Poblado. I'll check those in the next couple of days then make a choice.

It turns out a live real close to a few office furniture stores. One of them is literally kiddy corner across the street - I didn't see it because it is in a home and there are lots of big trees here. But, I was looking for it after checking the phone book. Some amazing and pricey chairs.

Here are some more options:

www.easysystemcolombia.com - look under accessories. Find it at Centro Monterrey. I think I'm going to go with one of these. Around 400k. I think all these are made in Colombia.

www.compumuebles.com.co - on Avenida Poblado. Amazing German office chair (Chicago) - but at 850k + IVA I will pass. Maybe if I buy a place and get a dedicated office. Adjustable lumbar support and head rest!

www.metalicasjep.com - one of the chairs, an Italian one is 2 million pesos...but it is very slick.

www.linasydisenos.com.co

Found a couple of these places by just walking by, others under muebles de oficina.

Chairs are important to me, I have an excellent one ($600+ back then) I bought back in the US - 10 years+ ago...still looks almost new, and going strong. I think I can say that after a week I am a semi-expert on where to find office chairs in MDE! One or two more places to check out.

A "hot chair" it almost like a "hot MDE chica!" :-0

May others find this useful.

Let me know if they have nice wooden L-shaped office desks and other office furniture besides chairs...i like my chair, similar to the $600 one you mentioned, so i am shipping it....thanks for the info!

circus, consider buying your chair at costo.com or samsclub.com, having it shipped to miami and then on down. This is what I did, after not being able to find the quality and good price i was looking for. The chairs in costco were like $150 i think, and to ship it down was like $70, basically the same price as the cheap ones in el exito.
