any business has the right to charge whatever they want.. and any customer has the right refuse to pay the price. I cali i paid $15/day for room in a 4 bedroom condo(pete's condo), it had free high speed internet, laundry, & free breakfast. At $15/day in comes out to be $450/mo. While in Medellin I paid $30k peso/night at a hotel near estadio, regular price was $50k but i got the long term cost.

You can rent furnished apartments in poblado for about $100-120k/night or stay in hostal for $15k/night and everything else in between.

Hostel in Medellin I'm currently staying at the Blacksheep Hostel in Poblado.
Private room with shared bath is 28,000 cop or about $12.00 U.S.
Internet and kitchen. Five minutes to Exito and a short walk to the Poblado Metro. This is my second stay at the hostel. Good place to meet people and share information.

Do a search for the "Blacksheep Hostel and check there Web-Site.
