I've done a little research, their ladiesfromcolombia.com website website states "We specialize in introducing men to single Colombian women. Since 1996" BS, I remember receiving a newsletter 5 or six months ago when they bought the business.

Read their membership policy, another quote "Ladies From Colombia reserves the right to cancel your Membership or deactivate your membership, at any time with or without cause, and without giving you notice" They even require your drivers licence number!

For their apartments they have an "Airport welcome service" another quote from their website, "Airport Welcome service: $13.99 for 1-2 people & normal baggage, $27.98 for 3-6 people & normal baggage. Must be paid with your reservation. This is for our greeting service and guidance only. We will accompany you from the airport to our facilities. Taxi fees are not included and can be paid in US Dollars or Colombian Pesos at the official Taxi Stand at the Airport. ( An estimate of the maximum standard taxi fee is $10.00 per taxi. Taxi costs depend on weekday, evening, Sunday and Holiday rates. )" They charge you 14.00 to 28.00 dollars to meet you at the airport and them make you pay for a taxi to the apartment?

They have two web pages with two different prices for the same rooms and apartments but no prices on the actual reservation form, hummm is there something fishy here?.

I'll finally answer you question:

This is turning out to be interesting since I was simply answering a request by Mackerel and answered a question from you.

I never really wanted to discredit anyone or air problems on the Internet, it's just not the place or my style, but since Ingrid has aired the subject I will reply in my own defense and to set the record straight.

To set the record straight: I am the past owner and origininator of several businesses here in Colombia, Ladies From Colombia, Bogota Bed and Breakfast, Bogota Apartments and Flowers To Colombia, my ownership was about 9 yrs. and several posters have used my services over the yrs., I've always have received good recommendations and reviews, one poster just gave me a great reference on the Bogota hotel recommendation thread. (and I responded and thanked him)

Three of the businesses were sold to Ingrid (my secretary of 4 months) that included Ladies From Colombia, Bogota Bed & Breakfast & Bogota Apartments.

Here is where the problem comes in, in the contract Ingrid was to manage my flowers business for 1 year, as usual, that was a deciding factor in the selling price. I was also to receive a sales commission for any business I sent them, I couldn't even reach them in the office by phone let alone cullet a commission!

Because of lousy service my flower customers were receiving I had to take back the flower business after 1 1/2 months. Anyone that knows me knows I put a high value on customer service and do my best to but out a quality product. Besides the lousy service, clients were being double charged almost to the point of me losing my merchants account for receiving credit cards, once the word fraud was mentioned by my bank I severed ALL ties with Ingrid and her businesses, I was also told by reputable people she was selling flowers after she contractually agreed not too.

Bottom line, I was forced to hire a secretary and find another office, so to fill the gap, Bogota Colombia Lodging was born, along with the other services I have include a B & B and apartment rental.

As you can see, Ingrid likes to attack people she doesn't like, people that cross her or complain about her service, that includes Bill1243, (whom I have never met in person) includes truck drivers, chippos, (she means cheap skates) She even insulted the owner of another forum that I have been a member of for several years (www.gringos.com) when he visited their office to up date the new book Two Gringos Guide for Meeting Latin Women, my agency always had high rating, now I doubt if it will be listed, if it is it will not be favorable to Ingrid's agency.

I prefer to do things legally, by the book and contractually, when there is a problem that's what lawyers and courts are for. She was VERY upset when my lawyer visited her office one day and said enough is enough!! I don't childishly argue, attack people, or mix a lot of words, I have a lawyer and don't waste a lot of time correcting a problem.

Why don't you try putting your customers first, instead of whatever the hell you are doing there.

I am the first one to say good things about a business, but I am also the first one to say what I think when I see such lousy service as you give. You Colombians never think about the future...all you do is think about the present and how you can get money today. Customer service sorely lacks with you people. You have so many people pissed at you that it is a wonder ANYONE goes there. And the upshot of the whole thing, Ingrid,is that you deny it and you make excuses and you blame others...for your own bad actions.

I only met you once so I cannot say to much about you from personal experience. I can tell you Bill does exsist and he is not Bob! Bill told me about the fact that you did not respond to his request for information on accomodation well before his post here. Bill can be a little abrupt but is always very honest..... this I am sure of!

I have heard from several people about the same kind of problems as Bill has experienced. I have also heard you have a dog in your office and that it jumps on people sometimes! I think I heard the dog died and you were getting another. (sorry about the dog)

Americans expect service..... or at least a best effort. We also hate to be ripped off. We want to pay the same as everyone else. I hate it when the price changes cause I am a Gringo.

You would be well advised to start being nice to your clients!

apartamento We are coming to Bogota for at least six months from Florida in January looking for a furnished place to rent. We need a reasonable price and do not mind living off the reservatcion. We have lived in Latin countries for awhile and pretty much understand what’s happening. We have also researched the city and country very throughly. We are American jubilados on a fixed income...
