You could also try to find one once you're there, it tends to be easier.

1. Stay in one of the hostels.
2. Ask around and read the avisos.
3. Find a place.

I´m here in Bogotá with my borthers and sister in law Blanca (wife´s family) until January 2nd, then �? am headed back state side. I mentioned to Blanca you may be interested in a room while you get your bearings. She asked me to get in touch, so I´m including a photo of the neighbohood.

The photo shows their street, 160th street, looking up to 7th Avenue (at the foot of the bare wall seen in the background) which is a major arterie, a 5 minute slow walk (until you get used to the altitude, then is even less). On 7th ave you can get public trasnsport to most points, and they have broadband Internet access.

I think this fits your bill, let me known.
