but what i want to know about is the shorts...i have read other threads on this site and also on travellers blogs throughout latin america about the local para military aversion to people wearing camouflage gear. whats the situation like in real life ? do you get more attention wearing this kind of gear , whether it is a t-shirt, pants or shorts. i read some story about how a guy from europe on steveislost.com, was taken into a local military police station wearing some sort of get up like that and they made him strip and leave his camo gear and walk back into town into a tight pair of black shorts..........hopefully he didnt run into too many maricones on his way back to town.

please advise so i know whether to pack my hawaii stuff and not bring camouflage gear to colombia....or would you recommend wearing speedos or tight silk shorts like the latinos on las playas..
