Scarves in Bogota

Just wondering if anybody else has noticed a ton of the younger kids or young adults wearing black and white patterned scarves that are essentially shemagh or keffiyeh-- scarves/headwear most famously worn by yassir arafat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keffiyeh. I was bored and started browsing this and I guess there is some huge debate in the US on whether these products should be pulled from stores..go figure haha. Just curious though..

They're started to get pretty fashionable here in the US as "summer scarves" until Rachel Ray did a Dunkin Donuts commercial wearing one. Of course everybody went ape crap about it and the ad was not even aired I don't think.
