Scarcity of Colombian Political Blogs

Its useful to refer to a country's political blogs when reading international news to get a non-US centric, and I think, more informative perspective. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be many blogs covering Colombian politics. "Colombia Hoy" at http://blog.colombiahoy.org/ looks interesting but is no longer being updated.

As an example of what I'm referring to, I was interested in the recent instability in Pakistan and read in the US media articles about how the US government was pressuring Musharraf to make democratic concessions. The articles mostly contained the subtext of the US acting as the vanguard of democracy that Americans are baby-sat with.

A quick look at Pakistani blogs revealed a more informative perspective: the US
was pushing for a Bhutto-Musharraf power sharing aggreement to broaden the popular base of the Musharraf dictatorship.

Are there similar blogs covering Colombian politics from a non-US centric viewpoint?

That depends...you want blogs in English or Spanish?

I've seen plenty of blogs dealing with Colombian politics in Spanish, but very few of them in English.

See the list here, for example:

http://blogscolombia.com/directorio/?id=10&desc=Pol%EDtica

Fun fact: I had a mostly political blog (in Spanish), but it was a rather fleeting one and I don't know if I could start one up again. Too time consuming.

There are not a lot, but some.

From the center-left: http://danielgarciapena.org/drupal/

From the center-right: http://agaviria.blogspot.com/

From somewhere else: http://victorsolano.com/ (has links to a bunch of other bloggers)

From the rabid anti-uribismo: http://felipezuleta.blogspot.com/

There's a guy Jaime Ruiz who I've seen in A. Gaviria's blog. He used to run the Pais Bizarro blog (http://paisbizarro.blogspot.com/) but I think that blog was closed for some obscure reasons. In any case, the guy is whack job, but it's pretty funny to read.

Also check the blogs in Revista Semana, particularly http://tienenhuevo.blogspot.com/

BTW, all of them are in Spanish. PBH is the prime source of BS on Colombia in English, AFAIK.

In English (but not based out of Colombia), the CIP website has a relatively new blog. You'll recognize at least one poster from PBH there.
