Scanning for an appartment in Cartagena

Greetings all,

I'm a British guy currently out in the south of Ecuador where I've resided for the past 9 months, but I have a flight booked to Cartagena for June 16 and I intend to be there, working, for a few months. Hence I need a place to stay...

Ideally I would like the best of all worlds: a reasonably-priced, furnished place in or around Bocagrade in which I don't have to sign a contract for any more than 3 months for flexibility purposes and would share with a few other people (native or foreign, it doesn't matter, as I can communicate well in French and Spanish). But I'm well aware that what I'm alluding to is probably utopic and very unlikely.

So, if you have anything available please let me know.

Thanks,
James

Find in the area "El Laguito", it's in Bocagrande and they have really nice apartments/views and it's cheaper than the rest of bocagrande :P

16th of June.. you will have to leave the country once this year after your 6 months are up.
It would have been a good idea to come in July. Arriving in July one can basically stay in the country for 12 months. Anyway, a couple of weeks across la Guajira and into Venezuela should solve that for you.

What I have, I do not want to lose, but Where I am I do not want to stay, but those I love, I do not want to leave, but those I know I no longer want to see, but Where I die, I do not want to go;I want to stay where I have never been

Thanks guys, once again. To be honest I just need something cheap and basic, but sufficient (fridge, running water, matress on the floor etc). Jonas, I don't think you even get 6 months on a tourist visa - more like 3 months/ 90 days, ¿no cierto?

you usually get 60 days on entry. After those you need to get extensions every month at a cost of about 70mil. You can stay a total of up to 180 days per calender year. Which means if one arrives in July you can stay for the rest of the year and than be granted 180 (in monthly extensions) days in the following year, allowing a grand total of 1 year.

Most here on PBH prefer Santa Marta over Cartagena. Cartagena sure is beautiful but after a few days I find it somewhat boring. You may wanna get a feel for the place first and be open to move on to another city.

Hola!

Stick with CasaViena in Cartagena. They can hook you up for CHEAP! I've stayed there and they tell you where are other affordable places, if they are filled. Come back another day and then get a long term room. They do not take reservations, but you get the place until you say you are leaving. They offer Frig & a Washing machine too! Their cheapest price is about $8 a night.

deckstrouz,

We offer apartments for rent in Cartagena de Indias. Our apartments are located in the neighbourhoods of Laguito, Bocagrande and in the Old Historic City:

The apts are just meant for tourists, not people staying longer term, but may be a base to start from, to look for something longer term.

OK, thanks. And, do you have anything more economical for people who intend to remain for a longer period of time?
