Saving e-mails for proof

When I first met my Fiance I had no idea that it would be more then a conversation and now a year later I am thinking about asking her to marry me in october and getting married by september 08. I have been reading up on having proof and all this and before using AOL i never saved our e-mails that we sent back and forth and now 10 months later all I can prove is e-mails starting from JAN 24 2007 where she sent me some pictures she took, I plan on turning this paper work in around november this year and that will be 10 months of proof via e-mail. Of coarse I have plane ticket stubs and banks statements showing me in colombia, but before JAN 24th, I dont have an e-mail even though we were in contact writting since november 06. Will this be a set back for me, or should everything still roll good as long as from now I save all the e-mails and stuff?

Don't sweat it. You'll still have a year or more worth of Emails. If she is even questioned about that at the interview, just tell her to explain what you just told us, to the interviewer. That is more than sufficient to prove continual communication and an established relationship. You probably already know, but also give her 20 or 30 pictures with YOU and HER in them (especially good to include a few of her family and you guys), phone statements (yours) showing all the calls you have made or received from each other, and all the other things you already mentioned. You will be over prepared - which is great. But do not worry over this. You will be fine, and are planning much earlier than probably the majority of petitioners do.

Just continue collecting, but how about phone records?...you might be able to back track on those, depending on your service....if i recall, you were in the mideast somewhere as a security contractor.....they would keep track of calls as well i would imagine....its nice to have identifiable landmarks in the background of photos as well....

Never throw anything away. Archive all emails. You never know when you will need them as in your case.Maybe your IP may still have it archived. Have you ckd that option out?

I can come up with my 1974 tax return which ironically came in handy for me in 1991. lol

Good Luck

Are you filing for a Fiance Visa (K-1) or a spousal visa (K-3)? In other words are you getting married in the US or Colombia? For the K-1 you need evidence. For the K-3 you don't need any evidence except your marriage certificate.

I have used pinplan.com phone card service, since first I began calling/communicating with people in Colombia. And internet calling card service, and I have found them extremely inept at providing RECORDS OF MY CALLS.

But, that was, I think, the only weakness of my 'supporting evidence'. And, the abundance of everything else I sent will more than likely over-ride the shortage of phone call records. 1500 emails??? No! jejee... I didn't send them all. far from it. That would have taken a foot and a half of paper to copy all that mushy (?) (are you kiddin? there was some FIRE IN THERE! ) shit and send to the USCIS. They would have thrown it out for OVERKILL! lol

""For the K-3 you don't need any evidence except your marriage certificate.""

But still.... the reality is, or not, that it takes even longer to acquire the K-3, than the K-1?

No, they take the same amount of time. Check the www.uscis.gov site for the processing times. In fact the petitions for K-3s which used to be handled by the National Benefits Center in Missouri are now being sent to the California Service Center. So the K-1 and K-3 petitions are sitting in the same exact line together.

I think you're pissin pinfeathers at pinplan.
but, being a relative techno-misfit, I'm not voiped and skyped out and alll.... but a colombianita, una amiga de mi novia, in eeuu today told me to use www.telefonicalatina.com and she said she never has problems communicating.

I still think it's the bad 'radiowaves' from Vulcan Galeras that is responsible por los communicacionnes malos para Pasto.
