I left Santa Marta by bus with my wife and two grandchildren on Wednesday, July 20th at 2pm. 60,000 pesos each for bus to Bogota, Berlinas de Fonce, new bus, excellent ride of 16 hours, arrived in Bogota at 6am Thursday. We went to Palmira by bus on Friday at 6pm, Palmira is actually closer to the Cali airport than Cali bus terminal. Cost 34,000 per person, a great scenic ride under the full moon. Taxi from Palmira to Cali airport cost 25.000 pesos. We arrived at Cali airport at 6am Saturday to catch Continental Airlines flight to Houston. We arrived in Houston Saturday afternoon, great to see my 5 children here!! My wife and I will we going back home to Santa Marta next month.
Any questions will be answered to the best of my ability.

Actually we bought tickets to Cienaga and got a taxi from there (cost 20,000), the bus goes Bogota-Barranquilla-Cartagena. If you can hack the long ride you are gonna save quite a bit over air fare, and see a nice part of the country.
