Santa Marta to B/manga

Does anyone know of rental cars available to travel between Santa Marta and B/manga? We found some prices through Hertz, but it would cost about $900 for 2 weeks, simply because the rental agency we found doesn't have a drop off in Bucaramanga. This would cause us to keep the car for 2 weeks, when really we would only need it for 2 full days.

Just curious Why would someone want to rent a car in Santa Marta to travel to Bucaramanga?
There is nothing to see in between... if you're not an hardcore Garcia Marquez fan... or you don't have to meet some Aguilas Negras on the way :-)
Take the bus: safer and cheaper!

i disagree rob there is a lot of thing to do and see between Santa Marta and Bucaramanga......the problem with driving its almost impossible to rent a car as the cost is way to high....like chic said 900 for 2 weeks... which is actually cheap I have seen much higher....the second problem is if you don't have experience driving in a third world country you should find another way...although I find if safe tot drive here ...I cant compare it to the nice safe roads of north America ...what I would advise is for chica to use the great bus system.....take a bus from town to town and use taxis in the town

Vic you disagree but come to the same conclusion... ;-)

Well, it is not that there is nothing to see, you're right. But nothing worth to rent a car to make the trip in two days as she says... I'd go to Santa Marta, rent a car there (if you really want to rent a car, which I would not), travel by bus to Bucaramanga (daytime to have a look to the land) and rent a car there to visit the surroundings.
The road from Santa Marta to Foundacion thru Cesar to San Alberto is not good at all, because of the number of trucks. Vic is right, need experience...
