A small town about an hour and a half south of medellin on route 25. This past weekend was the mango festival. Apparently mangos are very cheap...like 2.000 pesos for a case.
The weather was crappy, cold and raining, but the festivities carried on. There was a parade through the town and moments after it started the entire town lost power. A spooky fog then rolled in but people carried on drinking and partying anyway. The bars lit up candles and a few made up for the lack of power with their loud stereo systems of their cars. Once power was restored the party came back into full swing....until 6 am.
This is an annual event and seems to be a real nice place off the gringo trail. Also seems to be a very safe town..I left my motorcycle out in the street all night without any worry.

mranderson says on Jun 22, 2009, 19:26: Yes, the views are great. Although that route seems to have a lot of heavy truck traffic which can make it a less pleasant experience to drive it. It can be quite difficult to get around them.
