San Marcos

I'll be back in Barranquilla in a couple of weeks. Can't wait, I'v e been gone for 2 months and I'm tired of the US already. We are thinking about a road trip to San Marcos. Is it a safe trip? I don't know much about that area, I'd love to hear from someone that has been there.
