Been off this site for awhile and thought Id give a san gil and macondo update.
Life is good and the weather is great
San Gil is one of the lucky places to live this time of the year. It only rains at night, rivers are higher and better for rafting and kayaking (although occasionally get to big), fruits are more delicious and day times all fun in the sun.
My list of activities currently includes Rafting (up to grade 5), kayaking, hydrospeeding (bodyboarding on rapids), paragliding, absieling/rappelling in waterfalls, horseriding, caving and paintballing.
plenty of stuff to do by yourself, a couple of nice walks including a nice three dayer through the chicamocha canyon visiting the towns of santander, nice swimming holes and massive waterfalls to visit and shorter two hour walks. Plus the always beautiful parque gallineral.
check out a video on youtube, its the extended version of the El riesgo es que te quieres quedar series for santander

Chriscan says on Jun 6, 2008, 11:28: If I could move anywhere in Colombia right now, it would be San Gill. I'm getting bored here in Santa Marta and the heat is getting to me. San Gill reminds me a lot of my home in the mountains in Canada too. ************* WARNING ************* my words often come from my ass 0 funny, 0 helpful. |
