San Andres

Is there anything to do or see in San Andres besides the beach and diving??? I'm going to spend week there with my fiance and will be staying at the Aquarium. Hope there's some sights or markets to see instead of just 7 days of sitting. Can't really find any info about San Andres except for one sight in Spanish which, unfortunately, I don't understand.
Thanks.

San Andres Info Visit http://www.sanandres.com for information in English. If I return to SAI, I will include a side trip to Providencia. You may or may not know that San Andres is duty free, and many Colombians go there and shop till they drop, as did my colombiana when we were there; hundreds of shops. Another option would be to rent a car and drive around the island; once you are away from the hotel zone, there are rugged beaches with great surf. English and Spanish are spoken almost equally on San Andres; nightlife is limited, but there are great restaurants. Finally, I hope San Andres is not your only destination and you will get to visit Mainland Colombia. THAT beats
the hell out of San Andres, IMHO.

Info. Hi! I am sure you will have plenty to do. There are some interesting natural sites, lots of commerce, night life, tours to The Johnny Cay and Providencia Island, etc. I have not been there for quite some time but I can tell you that it is a very lively island, filled with that Caribean flare that makes any vacation unforgettable. Colombian cigars Why searching for cuban cigars in San Andrés if the best cigars are made in Piedecuesta (Santander, Colombia).

San Andres is boring. Plain and simple. Don't get me wrong, it is a nice place to dive, lie on the beach, or do aqua sports oh and let's not forget get drunk but... once you have done those things there isn't much. Besides Providencia is nicer.

The prices on electronics and cameras wasn't that great. But if you're in the market for a Praktika 35mm or a Kiev then this is the place.
