¿Y Despues de San Andres? Hello... just a quick question. What did you do after you got married in San Andres? Did you apply for a spousal visa? I am curious about what happens after as I have been discussing San Andres with my colombian girlfriend. I have read that you need to go to Bogotá to request a spousal visa and there is more paperwork if you want to be able to work in Colombia?

Gracias,

differnt items I got my spousal visa in December. However they told me at the time that would not allow me to work in Colombia. But for the exact law and what is need to work in Colombia, I believe there are people on this blog site more qualified than I to answer the question.

Do your homework... ...when applying for your spousal visa.

Be advised that instructions concerning requirements for the visa had a note: "The owner of the visa TC will have as occupation or profession HOUSEWIFE/HUSBAND. In order to obtain a different occupation, corroborating documentation is required."

Forewarned is forewarned. I arrived with enough documentation to secure a working permit as well!

You will be gratified to know that some of the more egregious
requirements have been eliminated. For example you don't need the
notarized Police report and will not need to deal with the
Apostille(Apostillados). Here are the requirements:

1.Two (not three)passport pictures.
2.Valid passport or Document of Travel.
3.Fill in the application form.(You can print this form from several sites)
4.Photocopy of Passport.
5.Authenticated copy of the Marriage Certificate.
6.Written application of the Colombian spouse requesting the visa.(They
even have a sample of a letter that one can use)
7.Authenticated copy of the Colombian spouse's ID.(cedula de cidadania)

Thanks Aztec. Thank you very much Aztec, that was exactly what I was looking for. Can I request the Spousal Visa (TS) at the Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores in Bogotá?

I am looking at the web site of the Colombian Embassy in Washington, D.C. (USA) and it states that 'A foreigner with a tourist visa CANNOT get married in Colombia. Decree No.2668/88 and 1556/89'. Is San Andres not part of Colombia? Or is this just a case that marriage is a civil matter and every department handles it differently?

Gracias,
