I was wondering if any of y'all knew where I could get some very good salsa lessons? I'm pretty good already, but I'd like to learn enough to be an instructor myself. Also, any places in Bogota, along with their specific nights, that have great salsa would be much appreciated.
Gracias!

God forbid you imply that Salsa is more Puerto Rican than Colombian. Do so at your own risk.

Meli-Monita says on Jun 12, 2006, 00:42: try different cities I lived in Barranquilla, where everyone dances like they are shagging on legs, then spent some time in Cali, where it's all twists and turns. If you're looking to be an instructor, I guess you'd best travel around a bit and hit the clubs to experience how different areas dance.

CuriosJoe says on Jun 13, 2006, 15:12: Rubiazo you said "almost nobody in NYC dances salsa anymore" but that's not true, there are salsa socials/clubs in NYC every night with thousands of participants all of whom are way better dancers than your average crowd in colombia. salsa is an international movement with people used to practicing it for hours. check out www.salsanewyork.com for daily events and internation salsa congress.

SanDiegoSurf says on Jun 16, 2006, 18:48: any salseros out there.. I am visiting Medellin for my first time in Colombia this August. I wanted to know what style of salsa is most popular. Do most of the dancers break on 1 (like here in CA) or is on 2 more common. thanks.
