SALSA CLUBS in Bogota? (ON1 NY/LA STYLE)

I'm heading down to Bogota next month to meet a friend. She's not really into the obsessed-dancers-scene like me and doesn't know the hot nights/clubs. Are there any places with a portion of dancers ON1 with NY or LA style? I've been to a couple other South American countries with no luck. Thanks.

Guayacan will be in Fontibon on Saturday not sure of the club name but ask around what is the club called where el son de cali, guayacan etc always come to. Havent been myself but if I have to dance to a tropical pop song one more time im packin my bags and off to better lands.

Thanks. I won't be there until the third weekend of August though. The pop salsa was what got me into the whole mix, but after hearing old school (Hector Lavoe, Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Tito P, etc) I was hooked.

Not much of the NY or LA salsa style here, I must admit when I first saw it I was like, 'that's not how we do salsa in Cali...'

Lauthra. :o)
Yeah, I've seen a few Colombian couples at some of the Congress (big annual salsa parties) and they seem to have more steps and more swing influence. It looks like you have to be in really good shape! ;o)

Here's my style (a friend of mine at an Atlanta party)

I haven't really seen much Colombian-style social dancing though. It's probably a lot different then the performance above.

If you want to dance salsa you have to take the trip to Juanchito!
