I never realized that she could be a cut-up:

""My driving abilities from Mexico have helped me get through Hollywood."

"I keep waiting to meet a man who has more balls than I do."

Hayek is Lebanese You can't get hung up on arabic spellings...they spell their names in Latin and Germanic languages phonetically.

Patel! Patel is a 100% indian surname and on the web page it is shown as scotish! come on!, they are just trying to make you happy so you will buy the story! and Gandy! gandy is inglish, I did not know that, it is amazing!, Salma Hayek was born in mexico but his father was or is lebanesse. Not mexican couple is able to have a beautiful woman as Salma, actually, the average mexican girl is indigena looking.

Actually Salma is almost pure Mexican. Of her 8 great grandparents only one is Lebanese, the other 7 are Mexican.

Agreed, those sites that are selling you a "family coat of arms" are mostly a load of cobblers. The coat of arms incidentally does not belong to the family surname, sorry for all those Americans who want to feel important. The right to the arms is through direct male-line descendants of the individual to whom they were first granted or allowed.

Yeah whatever.

I am not saying that Hayek is not a Scottish surname, but everyone of the surname is not related. It could quite easily be a Lebanese surname as well with no relationship to a Scots surname. Do you think all Thompsons are related? The surnames can and did occur with entirely different meanings and origins in different parts of the world and are totally unrelated. As for the arms whether it is in Scotland or the UK they are only through the direct male line. Surnames mutate over time, for example the surname UREN which is found in Cornwall was changed to WREN by many who emigrated to the US, however these WRENs are in no way related to the English surname WREN. I am afraid your logic is flawed.

I know about clans, quite a bit actually. A lot of the current clan craze was fabricated in Victorian times when everyone wanted a family tartan. Most of these tartans are modern fabrications.

Hayek
Altered spelling of Czech Hájek, a topographic name for someone living by a copse or small wood, hájek.
Dictionary of American Family Names, Oxford University Press, ISBN 0-19-508137-4

The vast majority of HAYEKs in North America, 95% are from Bohemia, None are from Scotland.

LOL at PBH Why is it that if anyone ever asked Salma Hayek her heritage, SHE would probably respond, as everyone already knows, she's 100% Mexican?

Yet on PBH, people are coming up with all kinds of ways to water down that heritage. 7/8 Mexican, the name Hayek goes back to...., Lebanese this.....LOL!!!

If you're gonna try to claim the most famous of the Mexican "Hayek"s, what about the other hundreds or thousands of Mexicans with the same family name? You want them too?

She's a hot chick. Leave it at that. She doesn't care about that other stuff, why's it a big deal here?

"Don't tase me, bro!!!!"

It isn't a big deal toneloc24, I could care less whether she is Chinese or Scottish. However whenever possible I like to bad mouth those websites that sell "family coat of arms", family histories etc. because I and every other serious family historian know these sites to be total crap.
