SABOR BARRANQUILLA 2009

Colombian Chefs and cuisines are being taken seriously from other Chefs around the world. Just recently there was a BIG gastronomic event in Cali where some of the BIGGEST Chefs attended, giving cooking workhops and food presentations. El Bulli, nominated to be the best restaurant in the world was represented by Ferran Adrias brother Albert Adria, who is the Coordinator of the restaurant and also the patisserie Chef was one of the invited chefs to the Cali event.

El evento culinario de talla internacional que se realizará entre el 21 y el 23 de agosto en el salón Jumbo del Country Club de Barranquilla es organizado en forma conjunta por Fenalco Atlántico y la Cruz Roja de ese departamento y contará con la presencia de reconocidos chefs e investigadores gastronómicos.

Serán tres días de shows en vivo, conferencias, talleres, exposiciones y diferentes eventos que pondrán ante la mirada y gusto de miles de personas las maravillas de la cocina de esta región del país.

Si bien, el año pasado se presentaron 91 expositores del sector y cerca de 15 mil personas asistieron a las diferentes programaciones, en la versión 2009 se espera multiplicar el número de participantes a este evento que reunirá importantes personalidades del sector gastronómico para plasmar en un plato y en los más exigentes paladares, todos los sabores que unen y consolidan una identidad cultural.

Last year was a really good event, worth going for a visit- all the top restaurants sell food at really good prices. You need to buy vouchers to get the food and drink.....saturday evening can get really busy.

You just turn up, pay the entrance fee (about 5,000 pesos) and then you buy vouchers which are redeemed at the food and drink stands. It get very busy on Sat and Sun- look out for Tradición Iberica and try a glass of great Spanish wine!
