Rumours

hey there. Can anyone confirm or deny the following:

1. That the great Mr Babillas in Bogota is opening 2 new places in Bogota. 1 in Chia, called Mr Babillas and another in Zona T, under a different name but same theme?

2. That a Hooters s opening n May in Parke 93? Now theres a scary concept!!.

Any info on if its true, and when they r coming appreciated!

thanks

I had no idea there are over 400 Hooters restaurants. Perhaps some enterprising person bought a franchise and figured if they can make it in Chile, Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Mexico and Guatemala, why not Colombia?

FWIW, In the U.S. the only states "sin Hooters" are South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and Maine. Colombia is not on their map, not yet anyway.

I Have Heard... rumors over the past year of one in the Zona Rosa but nothing as to location. Bogotá probable, Chia I seriously doubt.

I understand, in honor of Colombia, it will be called MEGA HOOTERS.

GringoD For tourists, in general, north-east part of Bogota is best and safest for tourists. The unadventurous should stick to Zona Rosa and Parque 93 areas.

Less desirable, anywhere that is Colombian poor (big difference than what we may consider poor) and under-maintained. That can be anywhere. This is not a knock on people who live in those areas. It's just that there are elements who are more desperate and things can get testy for the gringo tourist in those areas, whether or not you know how to handle yourself. South Bogota, has its moments. Further south Bogota, just forget it.

And yeah, Mister Babillas will rise again later this year in Zona Rosa. In the meantime, there's a weekend after-hours spot that some of that crowd now frequent in Zona Rosa.
