Rules of dating medellin

I was wondering how dating works in medellin. Is it normal that girl pays for nothing and doesn’t even offer to? Not even a gracias it just seems expected?I know I will take a beating on here for these questions. As well sleeping with a girl on the first I assume is not normal in medellin?

It is more normal that the girl pays for the date and then drops trouser.

Make it clear from day one an Invitation extends only to her and that If she wants to bring her cabal of Friends&Family, she must pay for her Invitees out of her own pocket. Be Careful on this or you will get nailed for a Big Bill and then maybe she sings hasta la vista if it doesn't work out. Pay for everything ONLY after you get the "Goodies" and not a dime before,,,

In Colombia the norm is that the guy always pays. There are a few cases where the girl will pay every now and then, but for the most part the guy pays for everything.

And like Mike said, if they see you have money. In this case having any kind of cash on you makes them think that you do, they'll start inviting cousins, and friends and other people because they foreign guy is paying. Don't fall for that.

Don't forget you have to pay for her taxi to go home too. In some cases that means just handing over your cash.

She leaves you at the hotel, you hand over 15k or more pesos for a taxi and she walks to the metro just to make a few pesos off you

You guys don't really think those innocent paisas would do this do you???

MitchAlvarez says on May 1, 2008, 14:49:

first of all call me whatever you want but if i never let a woman pay anything. maybe thats why certain type of females arent into me i guess jajaja.

in my eyes a woman should never pay for anything.

now that whole thing with the cousins and all.... thats another story. thats just that they think your rich, stupid, and easily manipulated.

as for the sex on the first night. it depends on what type of woman your looking for and/or dating that night. in that department its not that different from here in nyc i think.

nueva york bombero says on May 1, 2008, 14:54:

You're a smooth one Mitch!!
My ratio on who pays is based on salary.....
If a woman here in NY makes as much as me, she should pay on the second date.
If she doesn't, I wouldn't make it an issue, but not many more dates in her future!
If she's broke, I always pay. Then there's the 3:1 or 4:1 ratio.....
I need to see a W2 on the second date!!!!!!!

hi NYB.....wealth is a point of view....from my view...i'm not even close....probably a better label for me would be workaholic.....jajajajaa.....

actually completely addicted to work...and it's kinda a curse as it makes it difficult to enjoy vacations, etc... the way most people can....

nueva york bombero says on May 1, 2008, 15:51:

I was like that for over 15 years, now at the ripe old age of 33 I'm traveling a lot more and
enjoying myself!

Frank Rizzo says on May 1, 2008, 15:54:

Enjoy it NYB....sounds like you've earned it...!!!

I'm 38 now and i'm sure i'll live with this curse forever....probably work myself into the grave, as they say..

nueva york bombero says on May 1, 2008, 15:58:

If you stop now, you probably wont know what to do with yourself.
So keep going! My bud worked 38 years in the firehouse and is now
retired. He's going nuts!!!

tomtom33 says on May 1, 2008, 16:02:

Shit can happen, Frank. I thought that I'd never retire. Then a Canadian M & A company came along and made me an offer that I couldn't refuse. I was 49. It took me over a year to acclimate, but I have been blissfully idle for 9 years now. And I am loving every minute. Now I'm even old enough to be retired.

Frank Rizzo says on May 1, 2008, 16:16:

I know tomtom.....we're beginning on a house in san andres this Dec....and when thats done...i may take some severe time off....like 60 years...jajajajajaj

nueva york bombero says on May 1, 2008, 16:21:

What kind of bread is needed to build a house in San Andres?

Sorry! I don't pay much attention to it!!!
Does it really bother you?!
Maybe I should be rebellious and leave it??? lol

Desideria (Moderator) says on May 1, 2008, 16:35:

It was just a stupid joke, bombero. It gets old after a while. Thanx. Des

Frank Rizzo says on May 1, 2008, 16:41:

Got the land late last year...super, super, super cheap.... construction is a task there...you have to import the sand in on a barge for really strong construction....(local sand has too much coral or something...)...but shippinig from miami to san andres via boat is cheaper....it'll all probably balance out...we'll see.

Bluesdude says on May 1, 2008, 17:58:

Isn't there a residency restriction in San Andres if you weren't born on the island?

Bluesdude No Mas Gringas Por La Vida

Frank Rizzo says on May 1, 2008, 18:21:

Yep...... there are however legal ways to spend sufficient time for my needs. In addition...you know colombia.

Lostgringo says on May 1, 2008, 21:12:

Frank how much time have you spent there? I am thinking about trying it out for 6 months. I have someone (I think), who could help with the residency clause. Also, if I remember correctly flights to and from San Andres are expensive.
