Roses for Valentines Day !!

Anyone know of a good website to order Roses for Valentines Day? I know there are a lot of web sites that deliver Roses in Colombia. Last year they delivered some Roses that were already open. My Novia told me her Aunt said they were bad. I called them up and they then delivered some fresh roses. Don't want to go through that again. So I thought maybe someone knew of a good site to buy the Roses at. They will be delivered in Cali. Thanks ahead !!

I always used..... www.flora2000.com
to Pasto, to Bogota ones. Always a grand report from the receptor.
a little pricey on various arrangements, but for 3 or simply a dozen roses... not bad.

Maybe we change title to "Colombian Roses for Valentines Day". Claro!

Buongone says on Feb 6, 2009, 21:06:

Well, more than likely, that's going to happen anyway. One florists just puts in the order with a Colombian affiliate.

order them the day or two before V-Day.
She'll be happier receiving hers a day or two BEFORE everyone else,... rather than chancing that she gets them a day or two AFTER everyone else.

Darloup found an excellent site for flowers, posted today or yesterday, and another PBHer on the same thread (apologies, forgot handle) found another great site for flowers. Both sites had great arrangements for better prices than the site referred to above.

DO NOT USE FLORA 2000. I HAVE HAD BAD EXPERIENCES WITH THEM. AS MENTIONED ABOVE, ANY COMPANY OUTSIDE OF COLOMBIA WILL JUST CALL A FLORIST IN COLOMBIA AND YOU GET WHAT YOU GET. VERY EMBARASSING IN MY EXPERIENCE.

The site I used is www.floresparacolombia.com. See this thread: http://poorbuthappy.com/colombia/post/flores-para-colombia/

I have no other points of references but, as I wrote, the flowers were nice (they even put some white lilies as "extras") and they were delievered on time to her home address (with my personalized message too).

Hey guys, I am told Valentine's Day in Colombia is September 17, not Feb. 14 as in the Excited States. Anyone concur on that?

But as lometogo asked, Valentine Day is not really a Colombian thing.... Since "El dia del amor y de la amistad" falls in September in Colombia...

and, the two days are really a little different in concept, as well.
Isn't the colombian version in September Amistad day,.. encompassing friendships of many types.. not strictly the hearts and candy/romance is dandy (for kalder..jejej) type that is such big deal in eeuu.

I have no idea how Saint Valentine made his mark in Colombia!.

Feedback welcome, please!

El Dia me Amor is in Sept. But when Valentines Day comes to a Colombiana Novia, That spent her childhood in Florida. You had better send her a present. You know that Latin blood. Anyway. I went the route of Darloup. Got the Roses, a Teddy Bear, & some Chocolates cheaper than I ever had before. I used www.floresparacolombia.com. Flora2000 was the one used last year. Did not want to say who but ibd777 let the cat out of the bag. Anyway, I'll check later next week, after they arrive, and see how things went. If they go good, then they are the people I'm using for now on. When you can save $25-50 USD on one purchase. Thats cool. And it's a Colombian company, with Colombian Roses !!

You're right Buongone: If she is used to celebrating Valentine's day, you'd better NOT forget it!

I was just wondering how widespread celebrating "Lovers day" in February was in Colombia...

Good luck with the Flores Para Colombia site, and please do let us know if it was up to your expectations (or hers!).

As usual, women (Colombianas or not) are just suckers for flowers. Who are we to deny them this pleasure? ;-)
