Room to Rent in Torres del Parque, La Macarena, Bogotá

I am kicking myself, yesterday I wrote in LORE's tourism thread how much I would love to get inside Rogelio Salmona's Torres del Parque, today it seems like I have passed over a chance to actually live there.

I am sorted for accommodation but the girl letting the room asked me to let her know if anyone else is interested and I told her I would post it here.

The girl with the room to rent was specifically looking for a European student, I am not a student but she seemed flexible, so maybe you can be a student but not European, I don't know.

I have seen photos of the room and it is pretty big, furnished, and has the most amazing views across the other towers of Torres de Parque and downtown Bogotá. The apartment is shared with her, her parents, her sister and her cat. So I would imagine that anyone looking to improve their Spanish and immerse themselves in Colombian family life would fit in nicely. The family don't speak English.

It is $600,000 per month, if anyone is interested, get in touch and I can put you in contact with her

Ha ha, i´d say so, it looks to be pointing the right way. You could also get free "entry" to a concert or two

I was curious too about the towers and their proximity to the bullring when i saw an article about them in UK's wallpaper magazine. You could certainly watch the bullfight, or sit on the balcony with a .22 rifle and give the bull a fighting chance, depending on your views on the "activity"

This could be interesting. I'm going to take a few weeks to find an apartment for myself since I'm torn between a couple of neighborhoods. I'm getting back down to BOG on 19 Sep and not heading back north until Thanksgiving for a few days. I'm going to stay with friends as well, but this seems a better way to improve my spanish since my friends all speak English too, and like to speak it.

I know, for some reason I'm not getting any PMs through this site. you can email me at geoffscanofspam at yahoo.com. That is my spammail account, which I use in the public domain (since spammers scan websites for e-mail addresses). When I get your note I'll then reply from my real e-mail address. Sound good?

I have a friend who lives there and his father always comes to colombia during temporada taurina... apparently the old man has a pretty decent pair of binoculars and they just watch the bullfighting from the the balcony drinking margaritas.... I hate bullfighting, but the views you get at Torres del Parque are to die for.
