I'm taking a spanish class (www.simon-bolivar.com) in Quito, Ecuador and then later in Medellin, Colombia. Since I am returning home (to the U.S.) after my trip, I need a three leg ticket which is expensive. I thought if I took a bus from Quito to medellin it would be both more fun and cheaper.
Has anyone crossed the border with ecuador by bus? I need some reliable information on how dangerous this really is. I'm a 24 year old guy, and hopefully by then I'll speak decent spanish.
thanks
