Returning Packet 3 too early

Given that the 20th is the cut-off date for obtaining a next-month interview date, I face the following dilema today.

NVC has received my K1 paperwork from USCIS and assigned a BGT2005xxxxxx number... but they haven't yet sent the package on to the Bogota consulate.

Today we were forced to decide on either waiting for Bogota to receive (and send out) our Packet3 and thus missing the Sep/20 deadline for obtaining an October interview date... or completing Packet3 from forms obtaining off of the internet and sending it back before Bogota might even receive it from NVC.

So, we used Servientrega today for Monday (Sep/19) delivery, and on Monday we will also fax the package to the Embassy.

Opinions?:

Mistake, we should have waited, and now we may be screwed?

Nice try, may or may not work, but we likely didn't screw anything up?

Good choice, hopefully we get lucky and since we have a BGT-number they likely will assign a date?

"Nice try, may or may not work, but we likely didn't screw anything up?" gets my vote.

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.

flaleo Pal, your looking at a November date I think. If the Embassy has not received your packet yet then I guess I do not understand why you would wait. It usually takes about two to three weeks from the time they get it till the time you receive the Packet 3. You seem to be trying to hurry things up a bit kind of like having the cart before the horse and that may cause a problem for you. Bogota will do it their way before they do it your way I promise.
We sent our packet 3 on the 9th and got a 29th interview date. Slow down a bit and things will work as they should.

"Nice try, may or may not work, but we likely didn't screw anything up?" GETS MY VOTE ALSO !!!!

Friends???? How do you place a value on that?? They are like memories, without them you have nothing

Don't worry others have done it this way and gotten a faster interview. You didn't screw anything up, at the most you just have to wait a little longer till you get the packet 3 or else they will assign you an interview with your 'fast freddy' package. Good luck

If it could take longer then it may be screwed up right? The best thing to do is get the packet from the Embassy and return it. This way it is not setting around unattached. Good luck flaleo. I hope it works out in your favor.

AND THE ANSWER IS... You can't return Packet 3 too early - at least that's what we found.

We never received Pax 3 but instead used internet forms (and the .pdf copy of an Apr package that is circulating - thanks!!) and sent by both fax and overnight on the 18th in order to meet the deadling of the 20th. We obtained our BGTxxxxxxxx number on about the 15th. NVC sends the package to BOG both by paper and electronically.

So, the summary here is that once you have your BGTxxxxxxxxxx from NVC, and if you wait a day or two for NVC to electronically send the 'package' to BOG, you can attempt to submit Packet 3 response.

Our interview 'week' is end of Oct.
