Residency in Costa Rica for a Colombian

My Colombian girlfriend wants to get residency in Costa Rica to live there with me. She can get a work visa but I believe it has a time limit. Also, is it necessary to hire an attorney in Costa Rica similar to the law in Panama to get residency? How about the cost?

Thanks
