Residencias Tequendama - Bogota

Can anyboody tell me anything about Residencias Tequendama? All I know is that its located in El Centro next to the Hotel Tequendama and they're supposed to be suites.
What's the neighborhood like? Anything interesting nearby? Thanks.

I wouldn't live there I don't know about the actual apartments, but there's not enough of real interest in that neighborhood to make it worth putting up with the grit and grime. If you want a downtown feel, go a little farther south and live in Candelaria, or a little north and live in La Macarena.

Listen to Your Tio Mr. Hollywood. To close to the central business area and not, IMHO, really a residential area-in the strictest sense of the word. Look elsewhere.

I would Why are you considering to move there? Who is offering you a place there? That's actually the building where the governement has arranged congresspeople from outside Bogota to stay while in town, so it has quite a high level of service and security. It has a very impressive restaurant at the top with magnificent views of the city.

The neighborhood is indeed more commercial than residential, a bit lonely at night but nothing to worry about. It's reasonably clean, with lots of shops, banks, restaurants around. And it's very centrally located, so you are very well connected with the rest of the city. I'd definitely consider a stay there, but it all depends on what you're looking for

Residencias Tequendama The whole block has two apartment towers and the Intercontinental Hotel (Tequendama Hotel) and an office building.
It´s in the downtown area of Bogota, there´s the National Museum across the street and there are many shops, restaurants, etc. in the area, but it´s not really a residential area.

I think its a good idea The area isnt very residencial but is very central and you can get transportation to get anywhere really easily.

And as another poster said, its a very secure building, nice restaurant and nice suites.

Thanks for the input guys . . . I'm not planning on buying in that area - should've been more specific (sorry) - just crashing there for a week and needed to be near El Centro, however I am looking into La Candelaria sector as an alternative . . . Thanks again
