How about a way to see the most recent comments posted, and not just the most recently created posts. That is, when someone adds to a post, it could be noted somewhere on page 1 that that particular post has more comments.

A discussions-that-I-have-participated-in feature Something so that when we log in, we have an option to see what threads that *we* (individually) have posted in, and which have been active. Lonely Planet has one, and it is called "Today" there.

It's great becuase then we can more easily access the specific threads that we have participated in and makes it far easy to keep a discussion going 1) when we don't have to wade through multiple days of non-related posts to find it and 2) when we don't remember who started the thread in the first place.
