Renting in Bogota

What is the average price for renting a room or furnished apartment in Bogota? All the sites ive seen posted on here say about $400 for a room and above that for a furnished apartment.. That seems really high.
Thanks!

I'd say that is high also! A Friend of mine rents a Room(actually a small effieciency) in Miami(coral gables) for that price. Given the wages in Col, I would expect to pay NO more then half the price a Person would pay in Miami! BTW, Coral Gables is considered a HIGH rent District in Miami!

400,000 pesos or 400 US$? I paid 300 US$/month for a 4 bedroom appartment (ok, that was a few years ago) in Medellin. 400 US$ seems high alright, although I'm sure you can find higher too.

Poor but snappy

There is no real "Average" price in Bogota.

You need to decide the economic level you're willing/able to live at. You could pay $200 a month for a 3 bedroom apartment in a dodgy neighborhood or you could easily pay $4,000(USD) a month for a sweet penthouse with a view and 24/7 security.

check out metrocuadrado... and look in the neighbourhood you want to live in, the size of the apartment, and put in your price range. It will give you results. But what Mr Hollywood says is very true.... depends what you want. I know someone with a 2 bed flat near Hacienda Sta Barbara who pays $300US
