Rental costs

Quick question,

Is it normal for the apartment owner to pay the monthly admin fee or for the tenant? I know in the UK I've always had to pay the monthly administration/cleaning fees as a tenant.

And does COP$1,300,000 for a 3 bed apartment in Sabeneta appear reasonable (about 100m)? (New building)

Cheers

The owner pays the monthly admin fee normally.

The apt sounds expensive.

Is it with furniture?

If without furniture, about 800-900,000 for a 6 month or one year contract sounds about right in Sab, if its with furniture add 40% onto that figure, which makes the price OK.

How long are you planning on living in Sab??????

mmm.....with all the question marks after the question it you sound surprised?!

Well I'm just looking at the moment. Sabaneta is just one of a number of places I'm looking at. Loking to be close to Poblado without actually being in Poblado if you get what I mean, so I'm looking at Envigado as well. If you know any nice little towns outside the city on the side fill me in. I know Rio Negro and Llanogrande can be quite pricey though.

I know 3 bedroom apts in Sab in new buildings for 650-750K no view though as they are just on the third or fourth floor, the building has a lift.

i thing is expensive, even when sabaneta is far from Medellin and you dont have a lot of attraction near from there. i would prefer stay at casa kiwi, is more cheap with some many place to go arround

sergioalt, all the options are going to be cheap compared with Casa Kiwi, we are talking about 3 bedroom apartments here, not just rooms.

That is too much, ask your neighbors how much they pay, 2 years ago i rented a new apartment 3 bed and paid 1,000,000.00 per month for rent and electric everything. Dude what the hell are you doing buying an apartment for 650- 700k you can build a building with all the amenities for that. are you nuts??? you do know the avg colombian makes 200usd a month. I have bult 2 homes here and they were over 3000 sq ft with acreage, a finca in the city, it cost me 74,000.0usd with swimming pools, fully furnished , heat and ac, hot water everything. 1 house was 3 stories.the other 2 stories with river and mountain views, bus stop 2 min away. wow i guess your just rich and bored! You paid for the whole building!!hahahaha

thegrower,

Why are you talking about buying an apartment, we are talking about renting, I don't think you will be able to buy apts ANYWHERE in Colombia for 650- 750k.

This is Colombia, we are talking in pesos.
