Rent a Car

Hi all,
What's the best deal to rent a car in Medellin?
Thx

The best deal is not to rent one. No joke, it's too expensive and not worth it. But if you're still interested, call all car rental places found in the yellow pages and ask for quotes, you'll find out for yourself.

Mayen, look through the search feature here... We've all voted and experienced the fact that renting a car is time consuming and expensive.... You're look at $70US a day for a 2 door stick shift vehicle smaller then a minicoop...

Treat yourself to the relief of not having to drive. Collectives are 1 mil to 1.5 mil. Taxis will be dirt cheap. You can walk almost anywhere you want to go anyway in the city. If a person told me I could have the use of a car for free; all I would have to do is pay for gas, upkeep, and parking - I would decline the offer in Colombia. For the price of one day car rental, you could hire a taxi 40 times in one day, without the hassle and risks.

Msaucey, that's pretty cheap. Most places we called earlier this year charged us that plus whatever else for each km that we went over. After we tallied everything, the whole thing would've ended up costing us around $250-$300 per day. RIDICULOUS.

Mononoke, that's a bit pricey.....

$70 is for the basic smallest car in the planet, like a Chevy Sprint of Avio... through Hertz, the breakdown was, $54 for the day, plus tax and insurance brought it up to $70... But, for a nice size SUV.... the price you quoted would be about right... $164 base price, plus tax and insurance $213.... Hertz gives you Unlimited mileage...

Just looked it up again, this is the price that comes back....

Still ridiculous, when it only costs like $3 to go from one side of town to the other..... Just no point in renting....
