Lo del nacionalismo es mas dificil decifrar... lo que si es que el Colombiano por fuera siente mucha nostalgia por el pais que dejo, mientras muchos que estan el pais escogieron quedarse para seguirla luchando de pura conviccion que el pais va salir adelante. Igual existen personas que se van de Colombia y ya no les importa el pais, solo cuando juega la seleccion o canta Juanes. Y claro muchos Colombianos quisieran poder salir del pais tambien.

1. A finales de los años noventa y principios del 2000 hubo mucha gente que tuvo que buscar asilo politico en otros paises por amenazas de secuestro y muerte. Esa epoca era cuando las FARC mas fuerte eran. Por que le molesta usted que la gente diga esto, si es verdad. La situacion en Colombia es muchisimo mejor en este momento, pero hasta hace un par de años era terrible.

2. Es cierto que las cosas han mejorado respecto a la situacion laboral y economica, pero precisamente en esa misma epoca de la que le hablaba anteriormente la cosa estaba muy dificil, yo lo vivi en carne propia, pues precisamente por eso fue que mi mama tuvo que migrar del pais.

3. Cuando uno vive en un pais con una lengua distinta a la de una, la cual practica la mayor parte del tiempo, termina por olvidar algunas palabras de su propia lengua materna. A mi me pasa a veces, y eso que yo trato de practicar el castellano en casa, leer libros y noticias en castellano, pero es inevitable, porque no es lo mismo que estar en Colombia donde todo el mundo lo habla. Por cierto odio el "Spanglish".

4. Usted es hombre y tal vez por eso no le toco vivirlo, pero a muchas mujeres les ha tocado y es indignante.

A mi el regionalismo me parece de lo mas patetico y el patrotismo solo en pequenas dosis ya que cuando se convierte en nacionalismo puede llegar a ser bastante peligroso. En el caso de socializar con otros Colombianos en el extranjero creo que es bueno ser selectivo (como en cualquier otra cosa), yo no voy a abrirle las puertas de mi casa ni ofrecer mi amistad a alguien por el simple hecho der ser Colombiano... 1. El Colombiano en el extranjero que cree que todo el mundo en Colombia es un indio patirrajado, que en Colombia no hay gente educada, de plata, con clase y con visa. Normalmente es una persona de una familia colombiana de bajos recursos que no tuvo muchas oportunidades en Colombia y cree que todo el mundo en Colombia pasa los mismos trabajos (o falta de este) que su familia. Cada vez que tomo un avion a Colombia me encuentro con un especimen de este estilo...un tipo / loba mas Colombiano (a) que la arepa, que vive en el ghetto de NYC y viaja a Colombia a subir su autoestima o a ponerse tetas.

2. El Colombiano en el extranjero que no hace sino quejarse porque todo en Colombia es mejor "nada como el pandebono, la bandeja paisa, que pereza los gringos, no salgo sino con latinos, el trabajo aca es muy duro"... Si les parece que Colombia es tan superior por que no se devuelven en vez de estar berriqueando por todo???

While I somewhat agree that people shouldn't have to put on masks at any point in their lives. I also believe that people are allowed to have holidays... meaning an escape from ordinary day to day life. To not allow a person to 'cut loose' once in a while would be tragic and one would see increased depression/suicide/etc. As long as they don't get in my way I guess, because a lot of these people are way too over the top and attention seekers that like to cause trouble.

While I agree that people should be cut some slack when they're off on holidays (ie if you live in a shitty house and suddely can afford a 5 star lifestyle abroad), I tend to be quite skeptical of the quality of a human being when they start pretending to be something they're not, and not in a positive way. For example, a person who has a job in the US or England waiting tables, or at some dept store cashier and then goes to Colombia and treats people working in the service sector like crap because they can. I have seen this so many times in Colombia its not even funny... although I laugh sometimes because they think their fooling everyone in Colombia with their fake LV handbag and acrylic nails *rolls eyes*

Gracias por ponerme junto con Simon y Mitch. Simon es un colombiano sobresaliente pues defiende mucho a Colombia y Mitch es un paisa con unas cualidades interesantes de defensor y creo que es el unico paisa aqui que no le da pena promover su comidita colombiana aunque siempre sea el mismo plato.
Yo soy de la Amazonas y si soy nacionalista no me gusta que los ignorantes se pongan ha utilizar un pagina sobre Colombia para hablar peste sobre ella, y por cierto mis temas se pueden ver aqui por si acaso.

Nacionalista yo quiero decir que habla bien de Colombia no importa la condicion de la ciudad, del pais, del artista o de la gente colombiana, por ejemplo de, Buenaventura, de la cocina de Cali, del folklor de los llanos, de la gastromia una de la riquezas mas fuertes de Colombia, que habla bien de Pasto, Barranquilla, Sta Marta, Villavicencio y Cartagena, de la musica cuando un extranjero viene aqui muy campante (Y nadie le dice un carajo) y el tipo decia y sin ningun obstaculo que es esa musica es decendiente de cuba o republica dominicana bla, bla.. ustedes ya saben lo demas.
Los temas que yo abogo se pueden ver aqui en blanco y negro nada que tenga que ver solamente con mi barrio o mi ciudad favorita en otras palabras no soy egoista porque si yo me pongo a publicar sobre un lugar solamente es muy posible que ese sitio o persona cresca exitosamente mientras que los demas se van el pico o una palabra un poco mas fuerte, al carajo! y nosotros los Colombianos no queremos eso!!

While I agree that people should be cut some slack when they're off on holidays (ie if you live in a shitty house and suddely can afford a 5 star lifestyle abroad), I tend to be quite skeptical of the quality of a human being when they start pretending to be something they're not, and not in a positive way. I agree with this 100%!! I have ran into so many people that go to Colombia (from the states) barely speak English, run around showing off their broken English, show off their bags, clothes, bla bla...walk around like they own the country...it's exasperating!

I know someone who's mother in law works in the Hamptons cleaning hotels 6 months out of the year- she returns to Colombia for the remainder of the year. She lives there like a queen, in the most expensive part of the city, treats everyone around her like crap. Yet she fails to realize that she cleans hotels in the states to live a fairy tale life in Colombia!

That's why I heard when I was in Bogota, my friend also told me that I probably visited a section of Medellin where most people are vey poor and that's the reason why they got glue to that type of music than any other type of music so when she told me that, I told her that I have visited Sabaneta and she said bingo that's the reason they love rancheras with passion, she said something about the town used to be Pablos' home or his favor hang out.
For sure I do not want to go there again because it's very boring for me.

El tango corría por los bares en Guayaquil, que era una zona de bares de "mala muerte" con muchos prostíbulos. las rancheras en los pueblos. en cuanto al post....no es cierto. en ambas ocassiones existe regionalismo. en colombia existe y muy fuerte y pues no se en otros paises pero aca en new york existe tambien... especialmente entre caleños y paisas.
