Red Cross of San Andres

Hello All.

I am wondering if anyone could give me information on the programs within the Red Cross. I would be interested in working for the Red Cross, but I do not know what is required and if it is even possible for a person in my position. (I am a qualified lifeguard and have experience working at pools.) I would also like to know if it is possible to work for the organization in the branch in another country, more specifically, San Andres. :P

that should be an interesting question,... whether or not San Andres has its own chapter of the Red Cross; you might have to be the person to get it started.

Why Not Colombia?..........Stay Tuned, for more.... utterly worthless, self-indulgent gobbets of nonsense.

that should be an interesting question,... I know I saw a Red Cross building when I went there... but that's the extent of what I know about it...

you should just contact Red Cross directly I actually tried that already... nobody has answered me.:( Then again, perhaps they are just receiving so many emails that it will take time before getting to mine.

I would think some of the Colombianos here would tell you, but, you know how some of them are about '...HELP...'! If you have been reading all the 'dia-rhe-etoric' as the aftermath of the visit by the US President. They are likely going to tell you they don't need one more 'foreign' organization of any sort in Colombia, (for fear it could be ...... USA-BACKED!)

Why Not Colombia?..........Stay Tuned, for more.... utterly worthless, self-indulgent gobbets of nonsense.

I would think... Well, the Red Cross started in Switzerland didn't it? It's an international organization... that should be worth something...

Jennifer Check about how long you can live in San Andres, I hear no one can live there more than 4 months in one year. This is kind of new law.

Feliz Navidad!

No one living there for... (more than four months)If that is the case, that's alright... as I do intend on going back to university... I'm sort of hoping I could do this as a summer job or stage. However, would anyone know where I would find out how long one can stay in San Andres?

The good news might be that San Andres, I read a few days ago wants to severe itself from Colombia. Not sure why; just seems, lately, that maybe they deserve to be a sovereign state.

Azul My brother just build a custom made cabin, all materials shipped from 'Colombia', I wanted to buy land there next to his, and he said I could not permanent live there because there is a NEW law, that you can not be in the island for more than 4 months. The locals or people that HAD business there already are the only ones that can come and go. I can't believe that, but he was just there for a month and reconfirm that. If someone knows better I would love to know!.
