Recommendations for hotel in Pereira

Just wanted to know if there were any nice yet affordable motels/hotels in Pereira?

Second, how much does it cost to take a taxi from Pereira to Armenia?

I'm not going there for mujeres calientes, so we don't need to start the whole battle about the women there again!!!

Feel at Home After finding a suitable hotel you eat downtown

Nothing like a familiar name

Expensive Bus Trip Humm,,, A distance of 50 km (+/-),,, a NICE co-op bus, I'd think NO MORE than 10,000 pesos per person. Ride the regular people hauler bus,, maybe 7,000 pesos.

Bus Leaving Tulua Photo taken from front seat of People hauler bus,, no charge for cage, the CO-OP’s would want the price of a seat.

I know,, Living dangerously,, with the comments about assassins in TULUA and walking over blood in street and being ALMOST robbed at the bus terminal in TULUA,, I've always been lucky,, plus the cage was only 24,000 pesos,, worth risking my life.

Cheap Hotels
There are many hotels in Pereira since this is the city people must sleep in over when traveling around the country. Hotel Melía de Pereira is the most expensive and the best with a $180.000 pesos fee per night (remember that the conversion rate is aprox. 2.2). But there are a lot of good places downtown with fees from $25.000 to %80.000 pesos, too. "Hotel Comercial" in front of San Andresito, "Hotel el Lago" or "Hotel Soratama", among others, in "El Lago-Bolivar Square" area. If you speak a little spanish, you can also ask at the airport, they have an information stand about hotels, landmarks, discos, touristical places, etc. Cheers! :-)
