No way would I hire a maid unless somebody I knew gave them very good references.
A lot of them are actually honest but you need somebody who does things the way you like, not the way they like or other people like.
We had an excellent one here in Medellin; great cook, very hard worker etc. But she did not like receiving orders from my wife and wound her up a lot by intentionally singing all of the time whilst my wife was trying to work. She always behaved when my wife was out. She had to go!

There are many reasons for not hiring a maid.

Number one: The potential of the wrong person knowing your business. Loose lips sink ships.

Who had to go?

i musta slipt and fell...banged my head...for all the years we lived in poblado,we had this lovely young paisa for a maid and she and i were tight...and i do mean tight. when mom would make one of her countless melodramatic exits and head to her folks house for a few days or a week...who's alone with the young maid.....you got it. me. but here's the part you didn't get. i never banged that girl and if you add up all the time, we spent months alone together and as GOD is my witness, "i did not have sex with that woman"......(haven't you heard that quote somewhere else?)

really, i didn't i was a good guy and completely wide of my life's MO. pity. she got away with her virginity.

david...definitely a maid!
