dan, she is 'leaving home', not coming home; THAT'S GREAT! She will be here for Thanksgiving Holiday.

Where do we go from here?

Hey Famsearch. Are you guys in a K1 or K3 visa process? I just can't remember. It is encouraging to hear. Congrats!

it's the spousal visa... i think it's the k3. we got our visa on the 30th of august, and were planning on her spending one last xmas with friends and family, then coming up here after the first, when prices drop. well, i was informed yesterday by my sis in law, after she talked with her, that she is changing the plan a bit. she wants to spend our second anniversary together, and xmas with me, and her new family here. i guess it's a female's job to keep us confused... lol

I thought that she had recieved an immigrant visa, a CR1 or IR1.

she did... that's the difference with the spousal and the fiancee visas. the spousal is immigrant, the fiancee is non-immigrant.

Nope. The K-3 for spouses is also a non-immigrant visa similar to the K-1. That is what my wife had. The CR-1 (conditional - married less than 2 years) and IR-1 (nonconditional) are the immigrant visas.

Congrats Hope she adjusts well. My wife was great however I found that she was even better once she found work and school and developed a few friends. The tough part for me in the beginning was being her sole source of friendship.

mid-november instead of mid-january! Dan, I think I would take the next three weeks off and be a little like Elmo: stay drunk the whole time. Then, she will be here...tomorrow!
Better take her right to the Mall Over the Americas, to get her mind off that frigid weather that likely will be welcoming her to America.

Where do we go from here?

Minnesota? She's in for one helluva surprise. Most Colombians absolutely despise cold weather along with ice and snow.

I think he should pick her up at the airport with a sled full of Siberian Huskies; Welcome her to 'America' in style! Dude. jeje Colombianas have to look great in (and, out of) those big furry parkas.
