Hi,
Anybody knows a real estate agent in Medellin with an internet site to get an idea of the prices?
Also, is there any chance to find a house with a garden in El Poblado or other "safe" neighbourhood? Considering the warm weather is nice to be able to enjoy it. Moving there soon, and before we actually see how it`s like we would want to be informed and know what to expect...
Thanks a lot

If you want to rent or buy the prices are all over the map so you need to be more specific. If you want the name of a real estate agent I can help you but what languages do you speak ?

2retirensa says on Dec 16, 2004, 05:38: very timely question I was just about to post a similar question. I have never been to Medellin and think before we settle in Armenia, we have decided to check out Medellin. I know the weather will be much better for me. I have heard the cost of living is considerably higher so that is the biggest concern for me. Someone posted a Medellin real estate site a long time ago, but I haven't been able to find it. I have a friend from Medellin- if someone doen't post a site I will call her and ask.

miamimike says on Dec 16, 2004, 09:35: A good web site Do you know of: Metrocuadrado.com---it is a good web site to research real estate and I beleive it is country wide. I have used it a lot in my real estate in Bogota. I have telked to different banks who hold real estate in Foreclosure(estan en daciones) and have seen some greta deals sold this way. You need cash in Hand for these great deals though-they go fast!! On Sept 17, 2008: Senator John McCain said, as he had many times before, that he believed the fundamentals of the economy were "strong."Hours later he backpedaled, explaining that he had meant that American workers were Strong. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

viewpoint says on Dec 16, 2004, 10:21: Tinto A friend bought that home for 780.000.000 one year ago when the peso was 2907. What a difference a year and one month makes (2907 vs. 2370). The house is new and has 535 mt2, 5 bedrooms, 5 1/2 bath, service quarters for two maids and three car garage. No gringos live in that development including me. It is just rented to the wealthy Colombians. It's cheaper to rent homes and apartments in Colombia than own them. They currently receive 4.500.000 per month rent but it should rent for 5.000.000 to 5.500.000.

utopiacowboy says on Dec 17, 2004, 13:25: Thanks for posting that link. Very interesting - does it have everything listed for sale in Medellin? Like an MLS here? I did not see many places for sale in Laureles, Miravalle or Belen. Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult. 0 funny, 0 helpful. |

ColombiaBoard says on Dec 17, 2004, 17:46: Another Real Estate site for Medellin No, the link I posted is just of one Real Estate company that mostly promotes new projects and some re-sales, the list also rentals.

With the peso going up and prices going up, it's a very pleasant surprise.
