race in Colombia

I haven't read this book, but some of you might find it interesting as this topic has come up before on PBH.

Is the site getting that sleepy that you're starting this one up again? Here we go!

No, I don't have an opinion one way or another regarding race, it is a non-issue for me. However the topic is posted on PBH on a regular basis and I thought some members might like to read what has been written in this book.

UC...my thoughts exactly My only question is how far will this thread have to go before it turns into an all out race debate that drags on for at least three pages. (like the last couple did).

If you two hadn't posted comments to the thread it would have died by now. It didn't require a reply, read the book if you want, or not.

Another book that's an interesting commentary on race in Colombia is "My Cocaine Museum" by, I think, Michael Taussig. It's an anthropological book about Afro Colombian gold miners in Choco.
