Quito to Bogota

As I have been infomred that I need to break up my trip from quito to Ecuador so as to avoid travelling at night, can anyone suguest a good route / schedule to take? Cheers Trilbaphone

Quito to Popayan The road between Quito to Cali does get quite lonely during the night, so I would avoid it at dark (plus in general in Colombia you do not want to miss the views). From Cali onwards, you can travel safely day and night but I would also suggest day travel as the scenery is fantastic.
