Questions On Renewing My Cedula

I am going to Bogota at the end of the month to renew my spousal visa (Temp Con) and then my Cedula. To renew my Cedula I think that I must present the following:

1) a photocopy of the new temporary visa issued .

2) two photographs of the applicant measuring 3 cm x 4 cm and taken against a blue background.

3) a registration fee of COP 120,000, which is to be paid at Bancafé, the central bank of Colombia, into Account No. 056-99020-3, Code 101.

4) Cédula applications are accepted at the DAS Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Q1-- Do I have to fill out an application form or something? Can I get it on the net?

Q2-- Do I have to do something regarding my blood type? I don't remember doing this last year.

Again, I am on;y RENEWING my Cedula…not getting a new one. Thanks

this might be an obvious question but are you in Colombia now?Unless you are combining the process your local DAS office can handle.

They will have the necessary form. You should have had your blood type on the initial Cédula so another test is not necessary.

gator I remember they ask for a photocopy of the blood type card...but your shouldn't need a new test unless you lost your card

Rikito you can get your new cedual in the city you live in you don't have to do it in Bogota

why fly to Bogota?i just renewed my pension visa via courrier service.i mailed my passport/documents via "Deprisa" to my contact in Bogota and he renewed it for me and mailed back my new Visa all less than a week.saved me $ and time:)

btw,DAS changed the Bank in Cali were you consign the 127.350 pesos for the Cedula de Extranjeria. Now its Banco Sudameris

2 photos 3cmX4cm
1 photo 2.5cmX2.5cm
all photos with blue background Mate finish.DAS in Cali will not accept glossy pictures

DAS will provide you with the application form.after filling out the application form take a photocopy of it.you will also need 2 photocopies of your Visa,2 photo copies of your Bank consignation receipt of 127.350 pesos

blood type was not required from me because DAS already had it on file

I live in Armenia and will be going to Bogota to see my wife's family. Also, I am having to have the marriage thing redone becasue it is more than 3 months old. Getting the Cedula in Bogota is easy to do at DAS.

Thanks for the info

The lady at the DAS said she wanted a blue background for the photos because (in my words) white gringos disappear in a photo with a white background. However, once she saw that I looked tanned in my photo with a white background, she accepted them.

Application forms are available at the MRE and the DAS respectively.

Don't forget to have the letter from your wife, requesting that the MRE renew your spouse visa, notarized. There is a notary a block away from the MRE (and it is not crowed).

I saw another fellow at the DAS renewing his cedula and he had a blood type letter in hand (but I do not know if it is required on a renewal).

The DAS can produce a cedula within two days. If you do not want to wait in Bogota for two days, the DAS gives you a slip of paper so your relatives can pick the cedula up for you.
