Questions about gettng married in San Andres

Hi,

I am Texan and my fiance is Colombian. We were planning to get married in Bucaramanga (his home town) but I am getting frustrated by all the paperwork I have to take with me. Anyhow, we are now thinking of skipping all of that and just going to San Andres to get married the easy way. I have a few questions about this, please.

1) How long will we need to make sure we are on the island for? I assume the notary is only open on weekdays, right?

2) How much is the least expensive option? I'm not lookng for a beach cermony or any of that. We just want a quick wedding without the headache of the paperwork.

3) There is only one notary, right? Anyone have their contact information?

4) Do we need witnesses or can we be the only ones there?

Please help make our life simpler. Thanks in advance.

Try contacting lovelysanandres That is her username here on PBH, though I haven't seen her online in a while.

We didn't get married on the island, but we honeymooned there, and Jannnethe (lovelysanandres) was a very knowledgeable, experienced, and helpful woman we met there. She owns the hotel we stayed in (Noble House) and has been a wedding planner on SA for years. I'm sure she'd be willing and able to answer all your questions.

wedding In San Andres Island Hello, there sorry I had been not around,
Here are the answer to your questions?
REMEMBER HERE IN SAN ANDRES IS TEH ONLY PLACE IN COLOMBIA WHERE THE ONLY THING TO GET MARRIED IS YOUR PASSPORT!!

1) How long will we need to make sure we are on the island for? I assume the notary is only open on weekdays, right?

You will need at least three days, or even in two you can everything done, from monday till saturday.

Well if you married at the notary you will have to pay only the right that are about $ 120.000 ( about 70 usd)now the dolar is sooo low in reference with the pesos, but if you do not speak spanish you need to hire a oficial Interpretor that traslates your wedding and the moment of the ceremony, the notary does not speak spanish and you fiance can not be the interpretor has to bea outside and legal interpretor but let me know is a dark, humid place very sad for celebrate such a important event as your wedding.

Hola Jannethe ... te tengo noticias Guess what Jannethe ... Do you remember me? We met here on PBH, and then my wife Ruby and I honeymooned in your hotel for 10 days in December. Well, I thought you might like to know that in three months we are having a baby girl! She was conceived in your hotel! It is all your fault - I blame it on the champagne, flowers, and excellent service. Anyway, thanks for everything!
