Question regarding Packet 3

We are still waiting for Packet 3, I know it contains instructions, I-134, OF-156 and DS-230 forms, once she gets it are we suppose to fax my W2, tax returns and bank info and filled I-134 form? What is the process once we get packet 3? I just want to know so that I may start getting documents ready.
Thanks

She will also have to fax back Part 1 of the DS-230 along with the checklist. How long have you been waiting for the packet? They frequently get lost. If it's been longer than 4 weeks send someone to the embassy with a notarized letter authorizing them to pick up the packet. The letter should contain the case number.

rayo As cowboy stated they do frequently get lost. My fiance never received her first packet #3. I called the embassy and they faxed me copies of everything. I used them as templates and e-mailed them to my wife filled out so she could fill them correctly.
Note you may only call the embassy on Tuesday between one and three.(or is it thursday?)

Packet 4 They do get lost in mail. I have a PDF of our Packet 3 which we just received last week. I can email you a copy if you like. You fax back just the biological information and checklist. You should get it back to embassy before May 20th to schedule a June interview. They schedule out the entire month by then. If you miss the 20th then you don't get an interview till July. Once the interview is scheduled they will send Packet 4 with all of the medical information etc..

Adrianpaisa My fiancee also lives in Medellin. It took exactly 8 days from the date they said they sent it till she received. How long have you been waiting. Have you emailed the embassy. They have returned a few of my emails.

Brians You know what, I emailed the embassy and do you think that they have replied? Not a single thing. What I recently did was follow a friend's advice since he is also trying it with his mother. Contact your state congressman and they will send a letter to the embassy which is called "congressional inquiry" I hope that at least this will help

Typically When they do reply it take six weeks. I would suggest that you call the embassy on Tuesday between one and three.

I've said it countless times before. If you haven't received your packet send someone to the embassy in person with a notarized letter authorizing them to get the packet - include the case number. Don't wait. Don't mess around with emailing or phoning - they don't respond in a timely manner.

Advice?? Well my wife is currently making travel arrangements to Bogota. Is there anything that she should do or say once she arrives at the embassy? I know first hand that the personnel working there are not the most pleasant of people which makes everything that more of an unpleasant situation.
Thanks once again to everyone,

Read the second post on this thread. It's a bit much to expect me to repeat myself in the same thread, don't you think? This happened to us. We sent her sister with the letter and the case number - she went around lunch time and they gave her the packet. So yes, it works.

visa Hello Brians, I also did a financee visa eventhough most people appear to be doing a visa for a wife. How long did it take you to receive information to schedule an interview. I applied April 1st and I am wondering how long should it take. ALso i have been attempting to figure out what the processes would be. You help would greatly be appreciated. The waiting game is hard.

Actually Jlove, K-1 fiance visa applications outnumber K-3 spousal visa applications about 5 to 1.
