Question on Cali

Hi,

This may sound stupid, but I will be going to Cali soon and was just wondering if there were plenty of ATMs around so I don't have to carry too much money with me.

Also, I arrive on a Saturday evening and was wondering about recommendations for one or two places I could go to that night for some music, dancing, nice women.

1) Dont go alone

2) Dont take the first cab that arrives, if your are going to take a cab, take the 3rd. (advice given to me from the locals)

3) Stick with the ATM's in the Malls or Banks. I wouldn't trust an ATM near a convience store, bar or in a strip mall.

4) And this is obvious, don't stand there counting your money out in the open. You never know who may be watching.

Basically, keep some street smarts about ya.

I use the ATM's all the time. I find it much better than the traveller's checks.

ATM's are EVERYWHERE!
If you don't arrive with Colombian money,
there are several ATM's at the airport,
but you have to go the main floor, where all
the airline counters and stores are.
I would go ahead and get some peso's prior
to taking a Taxi because it is better to pay
everything in pesos rather than U.S. Dollars.

Cali is definitely a party place.... I have been going to Cali about four times a year for the last three years there are ATM's everywhere and I have never had a problem. It depends on what time of music, bar's, club's you like. My Spanish writing is not good but here goes; "Sexta" is a street full a bar's and some you could dance at. "Juanchitos" there are a bunch of dance clubs that play all types of music; they are within 1/2 mile from each other in the area called "Juanchitos". There are a lot more all over the place but I can not remember there names. There are good Trance/Electronic clubs also. Check www.caliescali.com you will find some there.
