bamapits3 Are you talking in pesos or dollars, if dollars sounds a bit expensive.

I don't fly Med-Baq, but Ctg-Med and the last ticket I bought a month ago cost 350,000 pesos.

I am going to my travel agent early next week, if you send me a PM to remind me I will ask her the cost of a return ticket for Med Baq.

How much does it cost to drive I'm curious what you think it will cost to drive that same route? Gas here is expensive. Plus tolls and other costs. I don't know how much "savings" there is in doing any long drive in Colombia.

Driving is definetely cheaper than flying. That is the eay colombians do it evry day.
The bus also works perfectly and you will find some very comfortable buses. it costs 70,000 pesos from Bogota to santa marta so Medellin -barranquilla which is a smaller distance, shorter trip, should be less than that.
You have to find out about safety warnings, but that`s it.

cheers!

bus!
yes, traveling to bigger cities by bus is cheapest and more secure. If you travel by car from Medellin

1. be sure not to use a new car

2. have colombian company

3.Best if you travel a weekend(friday or saturday till sunday or londay-holiday) when so many colombian travel for "puente".

4. Drive during the day.

How long does it take by bus from Barranquilla to Medellin? I'll be going there later on this month and want to surprise a friend who is staying in Medellin. The cost doesn't matter to me, just the amount of time it takes to get there.

Thanks,
ericha
