question about Yolanda Palacios Ingrid's mom

where does all the negativity from Ingrids mother stem from?

I am not to familiar with Ingrids history as a senator prior to her captivity. I know that Yolanda was a former beauty queen and she opened up an orphanage and advocated for the poor in the south of Bogota. Where does her bad rep come from?

From what I understand she has been vehemently opposed to any of talk of the military (under orders from Uribe) trying to rescue Ingrid.

Well, her requests have been very selfish in my opinion but I kind of, sort of understand her point of view. She wanted president Uribe to do whatever the FARC asked in order to see her daughter free. Now, this was a ridiculous request because Uribe is not a puppet and he couldn't abide by whatever rules the FARC imposed or kept changing every time they requested something. In her opinion, president Uribe was obligated to do as the FARC said and that was just not possible for the well being of the rest of the country.

To me it all sounded as her being more concerned about her daughter than anyone else, including the rest of Colombia. And I mean, them leaving the country the day after she was realeased and staying in France speaks louder than words.
