Question about Visa Packets. K-3

Hey there! I hope all is well with you. I wanted to ask for clarification about the visa packets. I'm in Cartagena with my wife and will be until july. Our I-130 was approved in Feb. We just received a letter from the NVC in New Hampshire. (for some reason the letter went through Germany first). It took one month for it to arrive. It is asking us to give them the address of where we woule like to receive the other mailings. It they suggest an address in the US, but I thought that the other mail comes from the Embassy? Or is there one more set of paperwork that comes from the NVC? What I received is: The Choice of Address and Agency form. Next should be: complete and send material sent to us from the NVC. THen, Medical Exam. Then Interview date at Embassy.

I thought that all the packets come from the embassy? If the mail does come from the NVC then I should use and address in the US. What was your experience? Thanks a million, JT

I'm sorry, I don't know why i put k-3 as part of the title. Our I-130 was approved very quickly so we don't have anything to do with the k-3

Some addl fees Since I used an attorney, I did not personally receive all of the papers, but I certainly remember needing to send the State Department $400 per visa and also needing to fill out an I-864 and some other papers.

So give them your address in the US and you will recieve further instructions. Once those are reviewed for completeness then they are forwarded on to the consulate.

Maiden name or married name on visa? When my wife has her interview at the Embassy in bogota, does it matter that her Passport has her maiden name? Does she have to get a new passport and Cedula with her new married name?

JT, for the immigrant visa processing (I-130 and CR-1), the NVC takes care of sending you all the preliminary paperwork that the embassy would do in the case of the K-1 and K-3. It's best to have this stuff sent to you so you can handle it. Later the embassy will be in touch with her when an interview appointment is scheduled.

Disclaimer: any comment I make is inane and is not to be taken seriously, and is so patently ridiculous that no one should take it seriously, even as an insult.
